The Ultimate Crab or Salmon Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh crab meat or salmon (picked clean or finely chopped)

  • 1 egg

  • ½ teaspoon mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup Patty Cake Seasoning

  • Optional: ¼ cup finely diced onion

  • Oil (for frying)

  • Non-stick spray or olive oil (for broiling)


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mix

In a large bowl, gently combine the crab or salmon, egg, mayonnaise, Patty Cake Seasoning, and diced onion (if using). Mix just until combined—avoid overmixing to keep patties tender.


Cooking Options

Option 1: Pan-Fry (Classic & Crispy)

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to lightly coat the pan.

  2. Place patties in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. Remove from heat and drain briefly on paper towels.


Option 2: Broil (Lighter Option)

  1. Preheat broiler to high and line a baking sheet with foil.

  2. Lightly spray or brush patties with olive oil on both sides.

  3. Place patties on the baking sheet and broil 4–5 minutes per side, watching closely, until golden and cooked through.


Serve & Enjoy

Let patties rest for 1 minute before serving. Pair with Sweetie Dee’s Dipping Sauce, a fresh salad, or serve on buns for sliders.
